The best word to describe myself is probably “dramatic”
which, as you can imagine, has proved quite helpful when gaining a BA (Hons)
degree in Drama. As a child I always loved performing which developed my
charisma and skills in the necessary performance environments that have got me
to where I am today. I am now surrounded by many like-minded performance-obsessed
students who also love dramatic creativity and exploration. Before University I
was part of an amateur dramatics society where I really discovered my skills as
a musical theatre performer. Now at University, I am able to continue my skill
development in this area through both my degree and my society; Performing
Arts. As the vocal coach I bear a lot of responsibilities such as musical
arrangements and creative ideas. I attained this role mid-way through my last
academic year and have thrived in it ever since.
At the end of my degree I hope to be highly skilled as both
a performer and an academic in the field of theatre. I am hoping to follow the
degree with an MA in Musical Theatre at a stage school such as Mountview or
Guildford School of Acting in order to continue on in my West End dream of
performance.
I’m sure you can feel a theme running through here.
